About The Job
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic General Manager & Vice President to lead our market expansion into the Microsoft development tools market. You will become Tempo’s business owner for a cross functional team focused on taking Tempo’s award winning and marketing leading products into new markets. You will have the responsibility to create, own and execute an effective go to market strategy along with building an engaging a top-performing team. This is a new position that will have P&L responsibility along with cross functional team reporting directly to you.
You will thrive on enabling Tempo’s transformation and growth in the Cloud segment. You will be called to develop a comprehensive Microsoft (MS) cloud ecosystem business plan to identify short and long-term strategic goals and deploy its tactical execution. You will enjoy and continuously strive to build strong relationships with Microsoft key stakeholders, its Partner Development Managers (PDMs) and Tempo’s resources to design new Cloud business solutions across Microsoft’s ecosystem. You will enjoy building and developing solutions aligned to the MS ecosystem plan to ensure new offers are taken to market in ways that show differentiation and are positioned for success. Ultimately, you will drive Tempo’s continuous business performance optimization as measured by, among other metrics, revenue, customer growth, retention, and channel partner adoption.
The role involves
* Drive business growth by designing and executing Tempo’s Microsoft (MS) strategic business plan
* Define the business planning processes to maintain a 3-year planning horizon and an annual operating plan, with clear quarterly and monthly KPIs scope
* Define Tempo’s value propositions to the appropriate Microsoft channels and stakeholder
* Assist Tempo in its transformation and growth in the cloud by developing MS adapted services, GTM and MS customer engagement strategies
* Design new Cloud Business solutions across Microsoft’s Azure DevOps & GitHub platforms
* Ensure clear governance with MS executives and establish joint priorities to identify transformation opportunities
* Identify M&A opportunities for inorganic growth and product footprint expansion
* Provide Tempo an impeccable execution rigor in delivery of key MS strategic initiatives
* Develop deep internal and external relationships with MS to drive mutual success, across sales, marketing and technical/engineering teams
* Build a high performing and driven team dedicated to our new Microsoft ecosystem
* Provide inspirational leadership and coaching to your team, enabling them to surpass the expected business results
* Be a strong influencer and orchestrator to align Tempo & Microsoft resources to drive global business impact
* Define and execute Tempo’s deep commitment to the MS ecosystem to build mutually beneficial business relationships
* Out of the box thinking to influence and accelerate our cloud and automation transformation initiatives
* Drive continuous portfolio optimization as measured by revenue, pipeline, and partner impact
* Hands-on involvement in KPI attainment
* Developing the solutions for scalability and performance challenges to keep our high-availability products up and running
* Supporting our developers with continuously delivering their software to the Tempo cloud platform
* Ensuring reliability, responding to outages and supporting the team in resolving pressing and complex technical issues.
* Proactively find ways to optimize our platform to ensure effective scalability and operational cost reductions
* Supporting various initiatives regarding cloud security, including identity verification, access controls, and permissions
* Developing and maintaining our tools for deployment and cluster management
* Debugging complex production issues using our observability tools, logging, metrics and APM
The ideal candidate
* 10+ years of experience in partner channel development, sales, marketing, business development, alliance management in the software industry
* Experience in the dev tool environment critical
* P&L management experience preferred
* 5+ years experience with a Microsoft SaaS vendor or for Microsoft directly.
* Ability to drive/manage/influence teamwork and cross-team alignment (marketing, technical and sales)
* Ability to lead team members in an engaging, inspirational, and driven approach
* Ability to influence and impact relevant executives in relevant areas of both organizations
* Strong executive presence including communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in dealing with large and small audiences
* Ability to translate customer value proposition to monetize its services and solutions
* Strong teamwork skills to successfully work in highly matrixed environment (i.e. Microsoft)
* Strategic long-term & short-term mindset to business growth
* Bachelor’s degree required (Sales, Marketing, Business Operations)
* Global business operations experience a plus.
