Order & Position Details
We seek a very strong C++ development team lead to manage and lead an offshore team in India. Candidates MUST have experience managing offshore teams in India (no exceptions!).
This position will be responsible for new product development and oversight of maintenance and support activities of a high volume application used by many large retailers in the US and Europe. This is a “hands-on” technical position requiring very strong C++, OOD/OOP, multi-threaded programming experience.
- Must have experience working in a high-volume transactions processing environment (ie, credit card processing, online billing, e-commerce, etc.)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of technical experience including 3 years of leadership experience with hands on successes in the technologies and concepts listed below.
We are seeking a person who possesses a passion of developing world-class applications and enthusiasm for working with a great team in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day software development lifecycle activities as well as coordinating project work of an off shore team.
Responsibilities:
- Leading development team (3-8 individuals) on projects to successful completion
- Assembling and leading project teams across multiple geographies (both on and offshore) Coordinating offshore development teams and assigning responsibilities to offshore team members
- Ensuring adherence to software development processes and procedures Assessing progress and providing status reporting to stakeholders
- Partnering with project manager on occasional customer interaction to drive solid project requirements
- Leading software project designs and code reviews
- Driving problem investigation and resolution as required Associate performance management and training as required
Technologies:
1. C++ (strong C++ and OOD/OOP skills
2. must be current) Java (core Java skills desired)
3. Unix (required including knowledge of basic Unix commands)
4. MS Windows Oracle databases (can understand and write SQL statements,
5. Perform SQL queries) CVS ODBC/SQL Scripting (shell, perl, python)
6. Concepts Strong Object Oriented programming
7. Client and Server side programming
8. Multi-Threaded programming experience
9. Experienced in defining project requirements
10. Experience with software design
