Job description;
SUMMARY: Estimator and Special Projects Coordinator: Estimates all job quotes and coordinates special projects to improve the activities of workers engaged in machining or assembly of metal products by performing the following duties in an Aerospace environment.
Primary Focus:
1. Estimate and quote all new programs
2. Maintain Company quoting and follow up
3. Improve estimating and quoting processes with specific software
4. Manage two personnel in the quoting group
5. Quote all lathe, Horizontal & Vertical multi axis mill and CNC machining work with the assistance of department managers.
Secondary Focus:
6. Coordinate all new programs where tooling is the primary focus
7. Coordinate the execution of new special programs assigned by the President
8. Be proficient in using all or some of the following software UG NX, Catia, Solidworks, Surfcam or Mastercam CAD & CAM programs for quoting purposes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Analyzes blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required in creating estimates and quotations.
2. Estimate the tooling, expendable tooling, fixtures, and miscellaneous material required for quotes to meet future production needs
3. Insures that any quotes that are over $100,000 are presented to the quote review board.
4. Organize, chair, and explain each estimate/quote at the quote review board meeting.
5. Follow up all quotes presented to the customer’s buyer after the submittal for: decision dates, buying decisions, and other possible future work.
6. Determine the needs to improve efficiencies and accuracy in doing estimating.
7. Supervises and trains all personnel in the quoting activity.
8. Work with the Scheduling manager to have delivery and lead times match current situations. Works with the Quality Manager to assure that all quotes have necessary tooling if awarded. Work with the Manufacturing managers on the process needs for tooling, fixtures, material handling and assembly.
9. Performs the activities of workers supervised
Secondary Responsibilities
10. Handles special projects assigned by the President from estimates to completion if awarded.
11. Maintains CAD Cam Skills using S3 software packages to be proficient in special projects.
Requirements:
1. At least 5 year experience working as a : Estimator
2. With estimating experience in mulit axis CNC machining, Aerospace
3. Must have management experience
