Environmental Associate – North West Region, UK

My client is an International Multi Discipline Consultancy looking to expand their environmental & sustainable engineering team.
A key responsibility of the role will be to assist in developing the environmental team for the northern offices. The current team covers environmental impact assessment, environmental management, ecology, sustainability appraisals, geotechnics, contaminated land, hydrology and drainage, flood risk assessment and sustainable urban drainage design.

The successful candidate will have broad experience of managing the environmental impact assessment process up to and including involvement in Public Inquiry. Developing a team to undertake such work and creating business in this area will be a key part of the role.

Experience in one or more technical disciplines would be essential. The remit includes:
• Management and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments up to and including Public Inquiry.
• Management and delivery of Sustainability Appraisals.
• Undertaking technical work in own discipline.
• Project management.
• Meeting program deadlines.
• Delivery of projects to budget.
• Technical review of deliverables prior to issue.
• Reporting on team workload and resources.
• Maintain and develop relationships with external clients and internal sections.
• Financial management, providing information to Technical Director.

Ideally you will have Chartered status but this is not a prerequisite of the appointment. The role may involve working on site, therefore you must be prepared to work away from home and hold a full current UK driving license An excellent package is available to the successful candidate.
